It is no coincidence that Pereslavl-Zalessky is called a place of Russian holiness, with its large number of temples and monasteries, with beautiful places on the Trubezh River, which flows into Lake Pleshcheyevo… Where the Holy Forty Church stands. The places are very picturesque. A 5-minute drive nearby is the monastery of St. Nicholas with the unique Korsun cross, taken by Prince Vladimir from Korsun, where he was baptized with his army (10th century). The Trinity-Danilov Monastery is unusual, with frescoes of the apocalypse unique in Russia (mid-17th century). The only frescoes in Russia of such complete details.

On the high hill of Pereslavl there stands the Goritsky Historical Museum with a unique iconostasis in the Baroque style (mid. 18th century), with the largest collection of iconography of the 16th-19th centuries and the treasures of the monastery sacristy.

On the Red Square, the Transfiguration Cathedral, founded by Yuri Dolgoruky in 1152 — one of the oldest cathedrals in Northeastern Russia. The Nikitsky Monastery, founded in the 11th century, is interesting… There are relics and chains of Niketas, the first stylite monk in Russia.

The southernmost monastery of the city, the Feodorovsky, attracts with its ancient buildings, the main five-domed cathedral built in honour of Theodore Stratelates in 1557 by order of Ivan the Terrible.

There is an interesting sewing machine museum in the town. The tour there is quite unusual, an immersion in the 19th century. Of particular interest is the story of Singer, an inventor and entrepreneur!

The "Clothing Iron", "Moneys", "Gramophones", "Radio" museums are also unique in their collections. They are very interesting. Even the names of some of them are quity funny: "The Horse in the Coat", "The Ryapushka Museum", "The Museum of Cunning and Ingenuity".

The oldest museum in the city is the Peter the Great's Boat, the expositions of which are dedicated to the construction of a "testing flotilla" by Peter at the end of the 17th century. The Alexander Nevsky Museum and several city exhibition halls are interesting…

In the evening, you can take a walk and breathe in the coniferous aroma in the arboretum — there are zones of Siberia, the Caucasus, the Crimea, and the Far Eastern taiga… Even a Japanese garden.
